How do I calculate a route ?
How do I show my preferred arrival time ?
Using the search form on the homepage, you can specify a departure or arrival time (but not both).
In all cases, www.jv-malin.fr searches for the best possible route that will allow you to set off or arrive at around the time you requested (before and after)What are the search options ?
3 search options are proposed:
- The fastest: this option finds the itinerary that arrives soonest after the requested time.
- The least walking,
With this option www.jv-malin.fr searches for the fastest itinerary that arrives soonest after the requested time and requires the least amount of walking.
- The fewest connections: With this option, www.jv-malin.fr searches for the fastest itinerary that arrives soonest after the requested time and requires the fewest connections.
In certain cases, the solutions proposed by www.jv-malin.fr may be the same for every option you select, because they already offer the least amount of walking and the fewest connections for the date and time you requested.Do I have to select or unselect means of transport ?
All means of transport are included by default in calculating the route. If you have more specific needs (e.g. accessibility or personal choice), you may choose to unselect one or more means of transport. However, certain route options will not be proposed in this case.
How do I understand the results that are proposed?
www.jv-malin.fr automatically proposes X solutions to your search. These take account of your search criteria (the fastest, the fewest connections, the least amount of walking, give preference to walking) and your requirements (leave before or arrive after).
The pictograms illustrate the different methods of transport (bus, trains, coaches, etc.) that you’ll have to use to complete your journey.
Click on “Details” for more details about your route and a view of your route map. You can also use the “Leave earlier” or “Leave later” functions to find other journey options for that day.Why does www.jv-malin.fr ask me to be more specific about my search?
Your departure/arrival point is probably too far from the station or coach/bus stop (none of the transport networks listed in www.jv-malin.fr passes nearby). In this case, www.jv-malin.fr asks you to extend your search area to find a stopping point served by a transport network. To do this, www.jv-malin.fr needs to know how you want to cover the extra distance. You are then offered 3 alternatives: walking further, using a bike or using a motor vehicle. When www.jv-malin.fr proposes these, choose one of the alternatives so that it can work out a route.
What is the geographical area that it covers?
You can search for routes or timetables throughout the Centre region and from the main stations in France’s largest cities (Bordeaux, Paris, Lyon…).
Please note that, outside the Centre region, you may only search by station.
See the map of partner networks [Partners section] to find out which transport networks have been incorporated into www.jv-malin.fr.In the route details, what are blue pictograms for ?
You can click on the blue pictograms. They allow you to view the departure, connection and arrival points on a map or satellite picture.
Why can’t I do a complete journey by car ?
www.jv-malin.fr is first and foremost a tool for carrying out multimodal searches for routes in the Centre region, using the public transport offer. However, you may use your car to travel to your departure or arrival point if they are too far away from the regional public transport network.
In this case, please see the “Transport Services” section in which you may find one or more people who are doing the same journey as you. What should I enter as a departure or arrival point ?
www.jv-malin.fr allows you to search for itineraries departing from or arriving at:
- A postal address in Brittany and towns added to the region
- A transport stop served by one of the www.jv-malin.fr partner networks
- A public building (Town Hall, Departmental Council, Prefecture, primary or secondary school, etc.)
For a more effective search, we recommend that you enter two items of information about your departure or arrival point: firstly, an address, public building or transport stop, and secondly, the commune. Enter your request naturally, e.g. “rue Jean Jaures in Orléans”.
If a commune has a compound name, enter the full name if www.jv-malin.fr. hasn’t found it.I can’t choose the required date
The calendar offers dates for which all the transport networks included in www.jv-malin.fr have supplied their data. As a general rule, you can carry out searches up to 1 month after today’s date. However, this period varies according to each transport network’s schedules.
It is not possible to carry out searches for a date prior to today’s date.
